As an MRI expert with hundreds of successful submissions, Fusion Physics, LLC will assist you in the accreditation process. We have an incredibly high pass rate and will help you with every step along the way including electronic ACR submission with e-filed reports, collecting the required phantom images, annual system performance evaluation, coil testing, and appeal letters in the rare instance that one might be needed.

Our Physics evaluation includes; Image quality testing of the ACR accreditation phantom including geometric accuracy, slice position accuracy, slice thickness accuracy, light field alignment test, low contrast detectability and high contrast resolution. Magnetic field homogeneity if bandwidth is variable on the system. Monitor evaluation including luminance, uniformity, artifacts, SMPTE and ACR phantom evaluation. Volume coil testing including uniformity, ghosting, maximum SNR and artifact analysis and surface coil testing of maximum SNR and artifact analysis, RF shielding integrity and refill the ACR phantom for free.

Our testing meets the standards of the various accrediting bodies such as The Joint Commission, RadSite, IAC or ACR. We also establish, maintain and annually evaluate the Technologist Quality Control Program.


Breast MRI

The ACR requires that the breast coil be tested annually by a Medical Physicist. Our staff has direct, hands on experience with breast coils and dedicated breast magnets.

Fusion Physics has implemented the use of the ACR’s small MRI phantom to ensure excellent image quality for each breast coil. Annually, we test the breast coil for maximum SNR and artifacts per the ACR’s criteria. If bandwidth is adjustable, Magnetic Field Homogeneity is tested. If bandwidth is not adjustable, Fusion Physics evaluates the field service engineer’s analysis of MFH and provides a report comparing the resulting data with manufacturer’s specifications. Monitors are tested for luminance, uniformity, resolution and spatial accuracy. The MRI technologist Quality Control program is established based on the individual scanner’s Center Frequency and Transmit Gain values and reviewed annually to meet the ACR’s guidelines. Reporting will be in electronic format for submission to the accrediting bodies and for the site’s record keeping as well. Fusion Physics’ testing meets the standards of the various accrediting bodies including The Joint Commission, RadSite, IAC and the ACR.
